The building was purchased in May 2016 and was previously owned by the Mercier family. Louis Mercier was known in the area as a collector of old agricultural tools, but also of all kinds of bottles and decanters. In total, more than 10,000 bottles were stored in the historic cellar.
The foundations of the house date back to the 11th century (around 1100) and have connections with the templars of that era. Hence the name 'Mas Des Templiers'. A former entrance, mentioned on the sign below, is still present in the courtyard.
The renovation works started at the end of 2016. The roof was completely renewed, preserving the style of the old house.
At the end of 2020/beginning of 2021, the last renovation works were completed. All rooms, bathrooms and kitchens were renewed. Each gîte has a bathroom with rainshower and a kitchen with dishwasher and induction hobs.
Since 2023, the domain has a brand new swimming pool
In the surroundings of Mas Des Templiers there are several activities to do and places to see. It is a beautiful area for cycling enthusiasts and the ideal setting for hikers. There are also several points of departure for kayaking in the vicinity.
